Steven's hero/villain

The hero and villain contrast in their brightness, the hero is much brighter, whereas the villain is darker and cast in shadow. The hero contains brighter colors, red and green. The villain has much darker colors, dark red and dark green. The hero which looks like a clown would resemble a hero more because people’s subtext for clowns is happy or funny. The villain’s facial expressions even give the impression of evil or villainous, also the dark colors and shadow emphasis that it is indeed the villain.

Both videos were essentially in affinity with each other with the exception of the animated parrot and the human “parrot.” The dialogue and scenes are essentially the same, keeping close to the original joke. Line is used to frame the repairman according to the rule of thirds during the scene where he receives the phone call. In the kitchen lines are directed towards the repairman from the cabinets and shelves. The use of space was very crowded, much like a typical college student’s apartment. The space creates more tension inside the home, but outside there is more of a release with a less cramped space. The mainly used framing was the medium shot, for the first video there were more close up shots between the repairman and the parrot. For the second video there is text and subtext, the text being that there is someone with a parrot hat on, and the subtext being that the person thinks they are a parrot.
